Who's the Boss?
When the body was first made, all the parts wanted to be Boss.
The brain said, "I should be Boss because I control the whole body's responses and functions."
The feet said, "We should be Boss as we carry the brain about and get him to where he wants to go."
The hands said, "We should be the Boss because we do all the work and earn all the money."
And so it went on and on with the heart, the lungs, and the eyes until finally the asshole spoke up. All the parts laughed at the idea of the asshole being the Boss. So the asshole went on strike, blocked itself up and refused to work.
Within a short time the eyes became crossed, the hands clenched, the feet twitched, the heart and lungs began to panic and the brain fevered. Eventually they all decided that the asshole should be the boss, so the motion was passed. All the other parts did all the work while the boss just sat and passed out the shit!
Moral of the story: You don't need brains to be a boss - any asshole will do.
Ok... jokes aside... not everyone can be a Boss... a good Boss.. that is well love and respected... if you wish to start a business, there are certain qualities that all good bosses possess:1. Bounce - The ability to move on from one setback to the next..
2. Multi-Tasking in view of the Big Picture
3. Passion
4. Talent
5. Leadership
Today, I'm just going to talk about the first trait. Bouncing. Good Bosses generally are able to face setbacks on a daily basis and turn them around into success stories. One thing happens to be common from all the success stories of celebrity Entrepreneurs. They failed. They failed big time. Did you know that before Microsoft, Bill Gates had numerous businesses which failed. In fact, he was so disappointed with everyone copying windows that at one time, Microsoft was up for sale at just $10 000. His highest offer was just $5000 so he decided to stick with it.
When Sylvester Stallone wrote the script for Rocky, no one was willing to finance it. When someone finally offered $30 000 for it, he refused to sell unless the was the main actor. No one was willing to cast him, a nobody back then. After 2 years, with no money left in his bank, he was finally offered a decent sum but he was asked not to star in it. He refused again, saying that he'll do it for free. And the rest is history. Until today, Rocky Balboa has catapulted him into instant fame and success.
George Lucas wanted to be a formula 1 racer but a freak accident caused him his dreams. His next goal was to be a movie director. No one believed in Star Wars. In fact, his investors pulled out last minute when he was hospitalized and told him that if he didn't deliver that very night, Star Wars was over. He immediately got out of hospital, pulled together his crew and finished Star Wars, despite it not being up to his standard. He is a billionaire today, thanks to Star Wars.
I could go on and on. It's clear. If you want to succeed, you have to bounce. =)
Words of Wisdom:
"The turning point, I think, was when I really realized that you can do it yourself. That you have to believe in you because sometimes that's the only person that does believe in your success but you." - Tim Blixseth
"The successful person makes a habit of doing what the failing person doesn't like to do. Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Accordingly a genius is often merely a talented person who has done all of his or her homework. The three great essentials to achieve anything worth while are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense." - Thomas Edison
If you want to succeed at any thing you do, you must be mentally prepared to fail. Oftentimes, the bigger the failures, the greater the tenacity to succeed and achieve something extraordinary. So fail. Fail again and fail some more. Who's counting anyways?
